Highlights from the SCAN Risk, Compliance, and Innovation Supply Chain Conference in Ho Chi Minh City.
See how global collaboration is driving stronger, more transparent supply chains.
SCAN took part in the World Customs Organization (WCO) Technology Conference & Exhibition in January 2026 in Abu Dhabi, joining global leaders in customs, trade, and technology as both a sponsor and exhibitor. The event brought together government officials, private sector partners, and innovators to explore how emerging technologies are transforming border management and international trade.
As a sponsor of the conference, SCAN maintained a prominent presence through its booth, where attendees had the opportunity to learn more about SCAN’s standardized supply chain audit framework and its role in improving transparency, reducing duplication, and strengthening global supply chain security.
The booth served as a key meeting point for conversations with customs authorities, industry partners, and trade professionals. These discussions highlighted the growing need for collaborative, data-driven solutions that align with global standards while improving efficiency across complex supply chains.

A major highlight of SCAN’s participation was a Tech Talk delivered by Dan Purtell, who shared insights into how technology is reshaping supply chain compliance and risk management. His presentation focused on the role of digital tools, shared audit data, and analytics in building stronger, more trusted global trade networks.
The session reinforced the importance of leveraging innovation to support smarter, faster, and more secure decision-making—an approach that aligns closely with SCAN’s mission and the broader goals of the WCO community.
During the conference, SCAN representatives also connected with WCO Secretary General Ian Saunders. This engagement underscored the importance of public–private collaboration in addressing the challenges of modern trade and advancing shared priorities such as security, efficiency, and standardization.
SCAN’s participation in the WCO Technology Conference reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening global supply chains through collaboration, innovation, and trusted audit practices. By bringing together industry and customs stakeholders, SCAN continues to play an important role in shaping the future of supply chain compliance.
